Drawing/Painting Using Paper53

96 notes

Dear Tumblr Friends—
I inherited my Aunt Ada’s chair years ago, and it sat in several basements collecting cat hair. Recently, Diane and I had it recovered, and we use it all of the time in Provincetown. I drew the chair last year, but just a few weeks ago was moved to write this poem about it:

Aunt Ada’s Chair

The chair, as old as the Depression
settles like a bystander in Aunt Ada’s house.
Green cushions. Wooden arms.
Spindled legs. Nothing about

that chair stands out.
You hardly notice it.
Until you sit there
and understand the fit

of something worn and
weathered and old.
Something that waits for you
in the dark hours. The chair holds

you like air from an open window.
Even now, recovered in ocean
blue and sandy brown, the chair
is Kansas and dust bowl plains.

So this is pretty cool, thanks to lacepearlsandcombatboots for asking me to take part in this!!

"You can tell a lot about someone by the music they listen to. Hit shuffle on your ipod/iphone/itunes/media player and write down the first 10 songs, then pass this on."

This is from a…

Adele - Make You Feel My Love Ben Fold- Fred Jones Eminem- Puke Blink 182 -I miss you Second Hand Serenade- Falling for You Spin Doctors- Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong Foo Fighters - Let it Die Tesla-Signs Styx- It’s Been Awhile Obadiah Parker- Hey Ya

Ehh, I have a rather wide eclectic taste of music. Not sure how or what this shuffle means. I don’t have all night to state everyone I’m curious to know about. Off the top of my head.

I’d love to see your next 10 saileshcreates, krickeleien, donleyjan, pixeledthoughts

All right. I’ll play. I just took a sampling of 10 songs from my nano. They are

if love is not enough - peter mulvey
downtown train - everything but the boy
the last time I saw richard -joni mitchell
he never got enough love - lucinda williams
anyone can be somebody’s fool -nanci griffith
song of long ago - carole king
blackpatch laura nyro
thunder road - bruce springsteen
orange sky - alexi murdoch
make you feel my love - adele

Inspired by Low tide 2 by donleyjan

this was an exercise to accomplish two things.
1) practice water & clouds with Paper using donleyjan’s
	picture as a tutorial.
2) see the contrast with the different types of apps.
As you can see, I did one with Paper, one with Paper plus
ANNOTATE +, and one with ANNOTATE +.
Which one do you like the most?

I am reblogging sebohannon because a) I cannot find any way to contact the artist and b) because I am very touched that sebohannon used my work as inspiration for her/his. Thank you! Also—I wanted other tumblr friends to see sebohannon’s wonderful work. Please consider following this artist. And sebohannon: make sure you hashtag madewithpaper on your Paper pieces. That way—other Paper53 artists can see you in the lineup!
